Does the Catholic Religion follow Biblical Principles?

C36

Let me say, if you are a Catholic, this is not about you personally but about the religion you follow. It is time you know the truth about the Catholic religion. There is so much about it that is false and not biblical at all. This is why it is important to read the Bible for yourself, so you will know when you are being lied to. Confessing your sins to a priest or saying ten Hail Marys will not in any way forgive you of your sins. What if i told you The Vatican itself is a corrupt empire, would you believe it? True faith is not about religion but relationship — not about ceremony but surrender. Salvation is found only in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who gave His life that we might be forgiven and live eternally with Him.

1. Why the Catholic Religion Is the Wrong Religion

Many people assume that because Catholicism uses the Bible and speaks of Jesus, it must be a true Christian faith. But when its teachings are compared directly to Scripture, serious contradictions appear. The Catholic Church has built much of its doctrine on tradition, rituals, and man-made authority — not the Word of God. The Bible warns us that “there is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Proverbs 14:12). Let’s examine some of the main teachings that reveal why Catholicism is not biblical Christianity.

2. Authority

Catholic teaching: Church tradition and the Magisterium (Pope and bishops) hold equal or greater authority than Scripture.

KJV Scripture: “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” — 2 Timothy 3:16–17

Truth: God’s Word alone is the final authority — not church councils, papal decrees, or traditions. Any teaching that adds to or changes Scripture stands against God’s Word.

3. Salvation

Catholic teaching: Salvation comes through faith plus works, the sacraments, and the Church.

KJV Scripture: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.” — Ephesians 2:8–9

Truth: The Bible teaches that salvation is through faith in Jesus Christ alone — not through religious rituals or belonging to an institution.

4. The Role of Mary

Catholic teaching: Mary is venerated as “Mediatrix” and “Co-Redemptrix,” and believers are encouraged to pray to her.

KJV Scripture: “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” — 1 Timothy 2:5

Truth: Only Jesus can intercede between humanity and God. Mary was blessed among women, but she was also a sinner who needed a Savior (Luke 1:47). The worship or prayer to Mary is idolatry in disguise.

5. Confession to Priests

Catholic teaching: Sins must be confessed to a priest for forgiveness.

KJV Scripture: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” — 1 John 1:9

Truth: Only God forgives sin. Priests are not mediators of grace — Jesus Christ is our High Priest forever (Hebrews 4:14–16).

6. Purgatory and Indulgences

Catholic teaching: After death, believers go to purgatory to be purified before entering heaven.

KJV Scripture: “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” — 2 Corinthians 5:8

Truth: There is no biblical evidence of purgatory. The idea undermines Christ’s finished work on the cross, which fully cleanses believers of all sin.

7. Idolatry and Images

Catholic practice: Prayers before statues, relics, or rosaries are seen as acts of devotion.

KJV Scripture: “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image… thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them.” — Exodus 20:4–5

Truth: True worship is spiritual, not physical. Bowing before or praying through man-made images is forbidden by God.

8. Man-Made Traditions Over Scripture

Catholic teaching: Many rituals, feasts, and practices were created centuries after Christ and are now treated as holy commands.

KJV Scripture: “Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition.” — Mark 7:13

Truth: When tradition overrides the Word, it becomes spiritual deception. True faith is rooted only in the Scriptures.

9. The True Gospel vs. Counterfeit Religion

The Catholic system teaches dependence on man, sacraments, and ritual. The Gospel of Christ calls all to direct faith in the finished work of the cross. Religion says, “Do.” Jesus says, “It is finished.” (John 19:30)

The Bible warns of false gospels and “another Jesus” (2 Corinthians 11:3–4). Satan’s greatest deception is to mix truth with error, appearing holy but drawing people away from a personal relationship with Christ.

10. The Seven Sacraments

Nowhere does the Bible list “seven sacraments” or teach that grace comes through religious rituals. Instead, it emphasizes faith in Jesus Christ alone as the only means of salvation. More on the seven Sacraments Here

11. Conclusion — Come Out and Be Separate

The Catholic religion is built on centuries of man-made authority and rituals that contradict Scripture. God calls His people out of spiritual Babylon — “Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins” (Revelation 18:4).

True faith is not about religion but relationship — not about ceremony but surrender. Salvation is found only in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who gave His life that we might be forgiven and live eternally with Him.
