Why the Bible — Not Politics — Determines How History Ends

Like most parents and grandparents, many of us think about the kind of world our children and grandchildren are growing up in. When we look around today, it often feels like things are unraveling — morally, spiritually, and socially. This article was written not to spread fear, but to offer clarity and hope.
While much of what is discussed here may sound heavy, the Bible makes it clear that evil does not go unchecked forever. God has already declared how history ends, and His plan includes redemption, restoration, and eternal life for those who place their trust in Jesus Christ.
Many people today believe that political outcomes will determine whether the future is hopeful or disastrous. Scripture teaches something very different. According to the Bible, the course of human history is already established by God, not shaped by elections, parties, or leaders. This does not mean governments are meaningless, but it does mean they are not in control of the final outcome.
The Bible states plainly that God “declares the end from the beginning” (Isaiah 46:9–10). This means events surrounding the end of the age will unfold exactly as written, regardless of who holds political power at the time.

Jesus Warned About Deception — Not Political Collapse

When Jesus was asked directly about the signs of the end of the age, His first warning was not about wars, governments, or economics. His first warning was deception. “Take heed that no one deceives you,” He said (Matthew 24:4). This warning is repeated multiple times throughout the chapter, showing how important it is.

Moral Decline and Cold Hearts: Signs of the Last Days

Jesus warned that the last days would not only be marked by deception and turmoil, but by a deep moral and spiritual decline. In Matthew 24:12, He said, “Because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.” This describes a world where compassion fades, truth is rejected, and people become hardened toward one another.
Paul specifically warned that people would be “lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud,” and that children would be disobedient to their parents. He said people would be unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, unforgiving, and lacking self-control — traits that describe a cold and hardened society.
These warnings are biblical signs that the world is moving toward the conclusion God has already revealed.
Jesus also warned that a deception so great is coming that, if it were possible, even the elect could be deceived. I believe this deception may involve signs in the sky and fear-driven narratives pushed on a global scale. Whether through false explanations of our origins or extraordinary phenomena, this deception will attempt to convince the world that there is no Creator — only a higher intelligence apart from God. This represents Satan’s final attempt to mislead humanity. More info on the great deception here.
